I’ve been seeing a post floating around saying “Sign this petition to stop CAS!” and there’s a lot of signatures on it (9,000ish?) at the time of me making this.

I’m just going to put this bluntly: That won’t work. Petitions rarely work. All the white house petitions really do is promise an offical response, and NOT a ramification of the problem.

CAS is very wrong, it is an invasion of privacy and the equivalent of going into a store, buying things, and then getting a pat down and strip search every time and every store.

If you want to try to stop CAS, like really want to make them regret starting this; Call your ISP! Call and complain about it, threaten to cancel your service and switch to an ISP that isn’t running CAS! There’s plenty of them out there that aren’t, I’m using one now! (Century Link)

Just like in my allegory you wouldn’t return to that store that would pat you down every time would you? No, of course not! You’d go to the store and make that store lose business, and once they’d lose money, they’d think twice about thier business policies.  

So call, complain, leave! Do whatever it takes to make them lose money or fear losing money. You may lose some internet speed switching ISPs, or have some shittier service, but in the end keeping your privacy is way more important.

okay so, today will be my last day on the internet apparently? i forgot to pay the internet bill and i keep forgetting……….. plus i feel like the net use in the family has been a little reckless as of late? so bye, i’m outy.
